Day-to-day operations of a new, state-of-the art data center\'s complex electrical and mechanical cooling systems. As one of the first Operations Tech hired at the site, I was a part of the team that brought the building to fully operational status through all 12 stages of construction. This required carefully planned operations through the writing and execution of many SOPs. Now as a fully built-out facility, I serve in several unique capacities even as I serve as part of a team of operators. These include roles as subject matter expert for the Mechanical Systems, Diesel Generators and critical facilities emergency preparedness, and supporting roles in the electrical distribution, fire detection and suppression and general facility needs. Notable accomplishments include- took on a leadership role for the entire New Carlisle campus as a critical facilities response trainer. In this role I have trained over 200 individuals through more than 400 drills in the past year, and have trained 10 approved trainers- led a campus-wide initiative in collaboration with partner departments to implement a revision to our rack deployment process. This revision involved a change in the way the rack delivery team prepares and stages the power whips ahead of rolling them into the data halls. This change reduced installation time by as much as 30-minutes per rack, and reduced level of effort and the potential for heat stress by making it possible to complete the power up process almost entirely from the cool (intake) side of the racks.
