This course introduces students to the fundamental principles and application of ‘S.A.F.E. Self-Defense for Women’ a program developed by The Welch Martial Art Experience founder Professor Sule K. Welch. The training provides useful tools for protection in the event of a violent physical attack. The focus is learning to perform skills to maintain or gain an advantage in the 4 most important ranges of self-defense (e.g. long range striking defense, hand-held weapons, grabs/holds, ground defense), combative breathing techniques, and improved self-awareness in public spaces can potentially save your life and/or prevent life threatening injuries.
