ABOUT SUFIA SATTAR

An MSc Psychotherapy and Counselling graduate from the University of Strathclyde with a solid academic background in counselling and the therapeutic process and relationship related to neuropsychology, health psychology, child development, personality, and individual differences. I am knowledgeable of neurological, neuropsychological, and psychological disorders, and I worked on a focused project involving the effectiveness of the PCEPS in a therapeutic setting. Demonstrating solid command of utilising research tools, I can analyse complex qualitative and quantitative data across various psychology research topics. Following my volunteer and placement experience and projects, I have real-life work exposure in supporting struggling individuals, including those clinically diagnosed patients with various health conditions, mental disorders, and disabilities.I have direct work exposure working with clients struggling with PTSD, BPD, childhood trauma, substance use and abuse, alcoholism, anxiety, depression, anger management, and other personal problems that directly affect the well-being of the community members. Additionally, as a proactive volunteer, I can provide first aid and mental health first aid for severely distressed clients needing immediate psychological intervention and emotional support to prevent them fromcommitting self-harm or any life-threatening decision. TECHNICAL SKILLS:MS Office: PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.SPSS: A computer program for data analysis and performing statistical tests. SKILLS SUMMARY: Real-world application of psychological theories, evidence-based and person-centred intervention, and management approaches. Working and communicating with children and young adults to assess cognitive, social, emotional, and environmental influences on their development, human behaviour, and responses to peer/academic pressures, relationships, and other challenges they commonly face. Knowledgeable of evolving standards for evidence-based practice in psychotherapy and counselling. Practices mindful, discrete, and flexible communication with clients, ensuring a comfortable and accepting environment regardless of their physical and psychological condition, gender identity, sexual preference, race, and social status.
