About Sue Hollar

Sue is a nationally recognized child welfare and adoption leader with more than three decades of experience advancing ethical, child-centered practice. As Executive Director/CEO of The Barker Adoption Foundation she oversees the organization’s strategic vision, programs, finances, administration, fundraising, and staff. Sue is known as a collaborative and values-driven executive, a talented manager and fundraiser, and a compassionate leader who consistently centers children’s best interests in policy and practice. Her career spans direct-service and senior leadership roles in foster care, adoption, and independent living programs at the local, federal, and international levels, and she is widely respected for her thoughtful leadership and expertise.Prior to her work at Barker, Sue served as a child welfare expert at a management consulting firm, directing programs for the US Department of Health and Human Services Children\'s Bureau supporting the federally mandated child and family services reviews and title IV-E foster care eligibility reviews of state child welfare agencies. This work included developing and providing training for foster care and adoption staff throughout the country.
