ABOUT SUE EBANKS

29years + in the Government Sector with Birmingham City Council, and Unpaid Carer. Current role as a Senior L&D Officer, stems from a career influenced at an early age caring for others. Most would say I started from the bottom and worked my way to the top, but I will flip that on it\'s head. I started at the top ~ in a caring role, providing direct care in many of the disciplines within the Care Sector. The role of Carers paid/unpaid is often seen as less gratifying as other higher profile positions. There is nothing more gratifying than knowing that the person you are caring for is left feeling happy, content, comfortable and warm.I once said to a Team Manager some time ago back in the 90\'s I want a job where I can make decisions in the best interest of others who are dependant on the actions of others where they are relying on someone to make things better e.g. A Manager. Where I can make a difference, and influence good practice. But why stop at \'Good Practice\". What\'s wrong with \"Excellent\". Most people want what\'s best for themselves and their family. As the CQC chief states \"If it\'s not good enough for Mum\"-(The Mum Test). Says it all. My work history will tell it\'s own story. And along the way have been coached/mentored by the most Inspirational Managers/Leaders you could ever wish for.(YB,LWD,HN and JM) that\'s enough clues.Where I am now: Senior L&D Officer-Working with individuals at all levels and across The Whole Social Care Workforce Birmingham, to influence, design, development and commission delivery of Social Care Learning and Development. Working in partnerships with multi-agencies on:Safeguarding Adults At Risk; Dementia Strategy/Care (Dementia Champion too), Enablement and Prevention; Procurement;Training Provider Network; Direct Payments Forum; New Care Certificate; Core/Mandatory program\'s, Safeguarding Adults Board-Sub Group rep. Involved in ChangeAgendas previous roll-out x700 SW\'s IB & 800 HC staff for Enablement.
