Experience
Speech-language Specialist
Sep 2011 — Present
I have worked for EBS Healthcare/Stepping Stones as a contractor speech language therapist since September 2011 (Philadelphia School District). From September to November 2017, I covered a maternity leave for an elementary school in Woodstown-Pilesgrove School District. In December 2017, I worked as a speech language pathologist for Delta School in Philadelphia, an approved private school for students with neurological, emotional and behavioral challenges Additionally from January to February 2018, I worked part time as a speech language pathologist for two K-8 Schools in the Bridgeton Schools while continuing to provide services at Delta School. From March to June 2018, I pursued a short term sabbatical coverage for an elementary school in the Cheltenham School District.During the 2018 to 2019 school year, I worked as a contracted speech language therapist in an elementary school in the Manalapan-Englishtown School District (maternity leave coverage) and also with pre-K and Kindergarten students in a public school in Pennsgrove, New Jersey. Since then during 2019 to 2020, I was providing services and evaluations for four schools in the East Brunswick School District. In the 2020 to 2021 academic year I started the year by providing medical leave coverage for an elementary school in Warren Township and then provided virtual and in person services to students of all grade levels at Leap Academy University Charter School in Camden NJ. I continued at LEAP Academy through June 2023 and have transitioned to a contractor speech therapist position closer to home within Trenton School district.Working in various settings has been beneficial for many reasons including: implementing newer IEP programs and additional resources, meanwhile gaining valuable experience with a wide variety of student populations, methods of evaluation and service delivery models. I speak Spanish as a second language and am aiming to become a bilingual speech language pathologist.
