The Houston Business Journal named Burnett the # 1 Direct Hire Placement Firm and the # 1 Temporary Staffing Firm in 2023. Burnett was named the second largest employee owned staffing and placement firm in the United States by the ESOP Association and the sixth largest woman owned company by the HBJ. Burnett Specialists has won the Pinnacle Award five times and is the only staffing firm in Houston to win that award. The Staffing Industry Analysts named Burnett as one of the Best Places to Work in Staffing. The company has won more awards than any other staffing and placement firm in Texas. Forbes Magazine named Burnett to the Top Recruitment Firms and the Top Staffing Firms in the US. Burnett Specialists is a nationally certified woman owned business. Sue Burnett has been given many honors including the HBJ Lifetime Achievement Award for Most Admired CEOs, Texas Businesswoman of the Year by the TWCC, E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year, WBEA Entrepreneur of the Year, Staffing Top 100, Jr. Achievement Hall of Honor, YWCA Businesswoman of the Year, and Tx Diversity Council Most Powerful Woman. She was named a Distinguished Alum by the University of Arkansas and donated the Sue Walk Burnett Student Media and Journalism building to the U of Ark.
