A post-graduate Ceramic Engineer from IIT-BHU with over 28 Years of intensive experience in Quality Management, Manufacturing, Application Engineering, Standard Engineering, Pre-sales, Business Development, System and Process Improvement in Optical Fiber & Cable manufacturing industry and passive connectivity solutions. Engaged in research on subjects of quality, reliability and application related issues of optical fiber and cable and published over 40 papers and several patents. A master trainer and one of the founder members of STL Acamedy. He participated in the online telecommunication lessons that won Guinness World Record. In early part of his career he worked as Management Trainee in ceramic tiles manufacturing plant of H&R Johnson (I) Ltd. Currently leading technology and pre sales of Optical Networking solutions, India business and located at Mumbai, India. In the last assignment spearheaded Quality Assurance, Quality Control and Process Engineering functions in Optical Fiber Cable plant of STL and prior to that he was spearheading Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions of Optical Fiber plant of Sterlite. In these positions, he was responsible for all the systems certification OHSAS18001), leading a team of quality & process engineers to make structured use of problem solving, six- sigma tools to result in bringing the product quality at par with international benchmark to satisfy customers. He is an ASQ certified Six-Sigma Black Belt, Quality Auditor & Manager of Quality/Organization Excellence and IRCA approved Lead Auditor of BCMS. He served as a member of panel of examiners of Indian Merchant Chambers –Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Award (RBNQA) during 2005 to 2007 & since 2010 continue to be associated with Qimpro as examiner for Qualtech prize. Sudipta is an active member of national and international standard development organization. He is a Vice Chairman of ITU-T Study Group 15, project leader of IEC SC 86A and BIS Sectional Committee on Fiber Optics and Liaison Officer between ITU-T SG15 and IEC TC86. Sudipta is the first Indian to receive prestigious IEC 1906 award from IEC TC86. He is a two-time recipient of the Urbain J.H.Malo medal (by Wire Association International, Boston, USA) award for best technical paper. He guided the team of Sterlite optical fiber plant to attain RBNQA Performance Excellence Trophy.
