ABOUT SUDIP MANANDHAR
Grid Integration Manager in System Operations group at Southern Company. With more than a decade of experience in the power industry, I specialize in renewable generation and large load interconnections (Transmission and sub-transmission level), Transmission System Protection and Operations, and transmission level evaluations related to the reactive power capability and performance of new and existing generators (synchronous and inverter-based resources).In my current position, I lead group of technical engineers to reliable integrate new generators and large loads on the Southern Company Bulk Transmission system. Prior to my current role, I was a Protection and Controls engineer where my primary responsibilities included setting relays for transmission and distribution system, provide power system protection support to the customers, analyze transmission system operations and PRC-004 misoperation reporting to NERC/SERC. I am experienced working with CAPE (Computer Aided Protection Engineering), Matlab, Power World and PSS/E in performing system analysis. I hold B.E and M.S. degree in electrical engineering with focus on Power System. I am a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Alabama.
