In the pursuit of excellence, my recent efforts included establishing a robust CI/CD pipeline and transitioning to Kong API Gateway, thus enhancing system functionality.Previously as Staff Engineer DevOps, the orchestration of GCP infrastructure via Terraform and Terragrunt played a pivotal role, alongside automating applications deployment in Kubernetes using Helm Charts and Flux CD. Single Instance Re-architecture: Consolidated Kubernetes clusters across environments into a single cluster, streamlining infrastructure management and reducing overhead. Cloud Cost Optimization: Reduced daily cloud expenses by identifying inefficiencies, optimizing resource usage, and implementing cost-saving measures. Database Backup & Restoration: Designed automated daily backups for PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch with cron jobs, ensuring data integrity and quick recovery. Optimizing CI/CD GitHub actions Jobs: Reduced CI/CD local test job run time from 1.5 hours to just 30 minutes by leveraging high-performance instances in a separate node pool. Cloudflare Optimization: Enhanced security and performance by reviewing and refining Cloudflare configurations. Kong & Nexus Upgrades: Upgraded Kong and Nexus versions in the Kubernetes cluster, ensuring access to new features and improved security.
