About Sudarshan Poondi

A post-graduate from the Institute of Rural Management at Anand (IRMA), Sudarshan has over three decades of work experience, especially in financial advisory and related services. Formerly Deloitte India TMT Leader and Corporate Finance Partner in pursuit of his passion to contribute to social causes and initiatives, he became the Corporate Responsibility Lead for Deloitte India. His role is to enhance Deloitte’s social relevance through purpose-driven and responsible initiatives and practices. Working on an alliance model to design and scale sustainable development programmes for improving the life of vulnerable sections of Indian society, Sudarshan has been focused on scaling funding, pro bono support and volunteering initiatives. He strives to make an impact and empowers others towards achieving Deloitte’s global purpose. Prior to taking over this role, Sudarshan was the Deloitte India Technology, Media and Telecom (TMT) Leader and Corporate Finance Partner. He worked with various clients on acquisition, divestments, fundraising, forging joint ventures & alliances, group restructuring and business valuations - enabling them to drive their organic and inorganic growth. Sudarshan, who has represented Deloitte in domestic and overseas markets, has been a jury member of many forums including Nasscom. He is also an active member of forums such as the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) and The Indus Entrepreneurs (TIE) where he has contributed ideas and initiatives in fostering innovation, development of cross-geography business opportunities and creating a sound ecosystem to facilitate early-stage companies.
