I am spearheading the Bank\'s move to the cloud on the Data and Analytics front. The tech stack includes some of the AWS native technologies plus Cloud agostic ones like Airflow, dbt, Starburst, Snowflake and Databricks. The design is such that it is easy to enter as well as to exit any CloudThe current problems I am trying to solve revolve around setting up of a Cloud agnostic data framework for Barclays. Clouds come. Clouds go. Technologies come. Technologies go. My area of focus is to build out a stack that is immune to these changes to the maximum possible extent. I am achieving these by building out our stack on DBT, Airflow and this has enabled us to deploy the stack on-premise wherever it is not possible to move to the cloud in the near future owing to prioritisation or data jurisdiction reasons.Alternately it ensures that we are not wedded to a particular cloud.The other area of focus for me is Data Quality and I am solving this for our transactional systems on premise as well as analytical systems on the cloud by extending our dbt suite by using dbt-expectations and adding a UI layer to author DQ rules and a BI layer to visualise the execution results.In addition, I am also responsible for the buildout of our Gen AI solutions for certain areas using Bedrock and Claude
