ABOUT SUBROTO BHATTACHARJEE

An overview of my career includes these highlights: Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd: Deputed in Contracts dept. I have dealt extensively with both post and pre-award Contract Management and having 20+ years of experience in the field (i.e. Tendering, Evaluation, Negotiation, placement of award and post award contract administration of Electrical and Telecom Equipments for Transmission line and Telecom projects); familiar with FIDIC, World Bank and ADB bidding documents. I was also posted at Project Monitoring Dept. of Northern Region-I of Powergrid from 2005 to 2008 and extensively contributed in planning and monitoring turnkey execution of 400/220 KV substation and EHV transmission lines. Involved in timely completion of 400 KV Transmission lines and substations associated with Tala and Kahalgaon Transmission Project for facilitating inter regional power transfer capacity of 15,400 MW.Parbati Koldam Transmission Company Ltd: Joined Joint Venture Co. “Parbati Koldam Transmission Company Ltd.” of M/S. Reliance Energy Ltd. & M/S. Power Grid Corp. of India Ltd. and executed 400 KV Transmission Lines from Parbati and Koldam HEP. In this role apart from pre and post award contract management I was also looking after regulatory affairs along with financial closing for the project through Non-recourse Project financing from PFC and REC. KEC International Ltd: Heading Contracts Division for South Asia Business Unit stationed at Gurgaon and looking after the contract and claim management with client and sub-contractors for all their domestic projects including SAARC Region. I am also instrumental in developing their contract management check list and procedures for implementation at all sites for smooth execution with improved margin and less disputes.
