About Subhrajit Roy
I\'m a staff research scientist at Google Deepmind (previously Google Brain) where I focus on AI safety and alignment in large language and multi-modal models as a core member of the Gemini/Bard team.Previously, I co-developed novel sparse multi-task deep neural networks for adverse event prediction in hospitals and inclusive healthcare technologies for patients with chronic diseases. I have been with Google since 2019. I\'ve worked at IBM Research Australia for three years as a research staff member. During this time, I co-designed portable machine learning systems for seizure management in epileptic patients. Recognizing the potential of this work, Forbes magazine included me in their prestigious 30 Under 30 list. I\'ve authored 70+ scientific papers. My work has been cited 1800+ times and featured in Spectrum, Pulse, VentureBeat, The World Economic Forum, amongst others. I also serve as an Associate Editor of the Neuromorphic Engineering section of Frontiers in Neuroscience and a reviewer for several AI conferences. I earned my BE degree from Jadavpur University, India and PhD from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
