About Subash Palanimuthu
I am a bioinformatics researcher with a strong foundation in agricultural sciences and an MSc in Bioinformatics, currently working as a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under the DBT–NNP project titled Development of a Genome Consortium Databank for Plant and Microbial Populations Emerging from India at the ICAR–Sugarcane Breeding Institute.My research spans plant and microbial genomics, with hands-on experience in genome and transcriptome analysis, functional annotation, database development, and bioinformatics pipeline design. I also work at the intersection of machine learning and functional genomics, particularly in predicting the functional roles of novel long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in chickpea, aiming to enhance plant genome annotation and biological interpretation.Driven by a data-centric mindset, I enjoy transforming complex biological datasets into actionable insights by integrating computational biology, machine learning, and plant science. I actively seek interdisciplinary collaborations, knowledge exchange, and innovative research opportunities in agri-genomics, computational biology, and functional genomics.Let’s connect and contribute to advancing data-driven plant and microbial genomics research.
