ABOUT STYLIANOS SERGHIOU

Physician-scientist and founder driven by a vision to help build a new paradigm of healthcare: one that is continuously learning, deeply personalized, and readily accessible at scale. My work sits at the intersection of medicine, clinical AI, and care delivery, with a focus on translating complex multimodal health data into insights and tools that clinicians trust and patients can use.As employee #1 and VP of Clinical Data Science at Prolaio, I built the foundations of its data and machine learning infrastructure from scratch, grew and led an exceptional data science team, and developed early clinical intelligence tools that transformed longitudinal wearable and multimodal patient data into actionable insights for heart failure readmission prevention.Previously, I was an AI Resident at Google Health, where I worked on technology-driven responses to COVID-19, including the Exposure Notification system and data systems supporting vaccine clinic allocation. My training spans medicine at the University of Edinburgh and quantitative methods at Stanford, including statistics, epidemiology, clinical research, and meta-research.I care deeply about building clinically rigorous AI systems that move healthcare beyond fragmented, reactive episodes toward continuous, evidence-based, patient-centered care. I am especially energized by work that combines technical ambition with transparency, reproducibility, and real-world usefulness.Today’s technology gives us both the opportunity and the moral obligation to deliver the highest standards of care at previously unfathomable scale. I am excited to be helping build that future.
