Ward 5 Candidate for Regina City Functional Planner with SHA, I develop space needs analysis’s and make captial planning recommendations.• Registered Interior Designer, and part owner of Bespoke Interior Design. • Advocate for accessible and inclusive spaces. My passion, lived experience and professional skills provide me with a unique toolset that is effective in finding solutions, advocacy and creating change.My why: I am a mother to a 5 year old wheelchair user with medical complex needs. In our journey we experience barriers, obstacles, exclusion and sometimes discrimination. I\'ve also encountered incredible champions and community support. It has been a continual learning experience to adapt, navigate, advocate and become a change maker. It has transformed who I am and it has made me a fierce advocate for accessibility and inclusion. With a background in the construction industry, building code, human rights, project management, and policy creation, I bring a unique skill set to promote accessibility. I believe in educating and connecting with organizations and individuals to highlight the importance of inclusive environments. By providing tangible solutions for growth, I aim to foster understanding and collaboration.Equity, to me, means removing barriers and ensuring fair opportunities for all, regardless of disabilities, mental health, gender, sexuality, culture, or race. Everyone should have equal access to amenities and services without facing unnecessary challenges. I envision a future where equal access to public spaces is a standard, not a struggle.#Accessibility #Inclusion #Equity #Advocacy My hobbies include: Triathlon, Running, Travelling and Adventure. Unique conversation starters about me:*I swam from Alcatraz ‍ * I attended Obama’s presidential inauguration and balls.* I was the 15th person in Canada to have open fetal surgery with my daughter at 23 weeks pregnant * I completed an Ironman 70.3 (Muskoka 2014) ‍ * And yes, I like pineapple on pizza Note: My projects and information is very slowly being updated as I reintroduce myself on this platform.
