In December 2015, I joined Simply Ethical as their Chief Investment Officer, where alongside my fellow Directors I am driving an innovative and fresh approach to managing Sharia-observant ethical investments. Simply Ethical is launching a new on line proposition to support small and medium investors who are seeking a way of saving for the long term. This is alongside an already well established business that works with HNWI and UHNWI, as well as many family offices around the world.I have a keen interest in new technology (fintech), especially supporting organisations in advancing this area to find new ways of developing the financial and banking sectors, especially around delivery and inclusion.As a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for securities and Investments (CISI) and a qualified Financial Planner, I hold the Islamic Finance Qualification and am an External Specialist Advisor to the CISI on Islamic Finance.Over recent years, I have spoken at many events in the UK, Europe, Middle East and Far East, on topics such as the integration of ethical and Islamic finance, the role responsible finance has in sustainable investing and the development of technology in this sector. I also contribute to many papers regularly and have written sections for books in Europe and Malaysia.
