Teams of students and pupils from over forty schools, colleges and universities across Northern Ireland and Ireland are designing, building and racing single seat electric cars. Every sector and ability is represented.Participants establish constructor teams, and engage in enterprise activities to resource their them. They design their cars with industry leading Solid Edge CAD software from Siemens, work with advanced materials including composites, conduct experiments and compile portfolios over a racing season. The season culminates with an annual championship racing event held locally since 2013, with top teams winning a place on the International Championships Finals grid at the Rockingham Motor Speedway in Corby.With a team of professionals from the engineering and education sectors, Stuart planned and facilitated the establishment of challenges run by the Greenpower Education Trust in Northern Ireland and Ireland.Stuart is responsible for Health & Safety, recruitment, training and technical support of teams and schools. He also develops the opportunity across Northern Ireland and Ireland, by creating external partnerships with organisations from government, industry, education and voluntary sectors. Stuart leads local corporate communications, social media, and fundraising operations. He also supports the Greenpower HQ team by contributing to local event planning and running.
