I handle a wide variety of domestic and international commercial disputes, but specialise in claims connected to professional and financial services. This includes litigation around derivatives, structured products, investment agreements and loan facilities. I have also acted in litigation involving insolvent entities as well as professional negligence claims against accountants connected to financial models, claims against valuers and other professionals. Recent cases include:• successfully defending a European bank in $850m claims by a US investment bank and pension/hedge funds in the first UK decision under the EBRRD• acting for a claimant investment bank in a repo dispute, including negligence claims against its collateral manager (settled)• representing an overseas state owned company in an on-going ISDA close-out dispute• advice to an investment bank on liabilities under expenses letters issued to SPV issuers in the Dante Note programme (including negotiations with the trustee)• advising a foreign bank on various master agreements following the collapse of Lehman Brothers• leading a portfolio of negligence claims against surveyors for a bank in run-off• multiple negligence claims against model authors and auditors connected to infrastructure projects
