ABOUT STUART MCINALLY
I always wanted to be a pilot. That kid you see at the airport; hands on the glass, staring out the window watching the planes take off and land. That was me. Then rugby came along and suddenly there was a new dream, to play for Edinburgh and Scotland. I often look back and think that rugby got in the way of my first dream to become a commercial airline pilot. Truth is, it’s been the best obstacle I could have ever imagined.The importance of hard work, self-discipline, and being open to feedback are learnings I use in all aspects of my life. Rugby taught me that. I learnt that being good is easy and that being great isn’t. To represent and captain my club and country were exceptional goals of mine. I learnt that by applying exceptional behaviours every day you arrive at your goals on purpose. Being a rugby player taught me all of that. And now I am pursuing my boyhood dream to become a commercial airline pilot. I’m excited for the challenge and look forward to applying my learnings from sport into the skies. Watch this space
