ABOUT STUART LANG

I have experience working both in industry and in academia on a range of drug discovery projects at various stages in the research and development process. My research interests fall broadly into the area of organic chemistry and are primarily concerned with molecular structure, both the properties and applications of organic molecules and studies toward their synthesis and reactivity. This includes areas such as synthetic method development, organometallic chemistry, catalysis, mechanistic investigation, medicinal/ biological chemistry, natural product synthesis and isotopic labelling. In addition to academic projects I have experience working at the interface between research and business, collaborating with representatives from multiple organisations. This is exemplified by me managing a project that has resulted the the creation the first commercially available deubiqutinating enzyme focused small molecule library One of my key strengths is my ability to communicate with people, which is demonstrated though leading teams of students through complex projects that I have designed and in the teaching of undergraduate and post graduate students both in the format of lectures and small group tutorials. My written communication skills are also exemplified with me being author of high quality peer reviewed publications in international journals.
