Senior Laboratory Engineer @Woods Air Movement

After a number of years in the external sales team I have opted for a change in direction, back to my Engineering roots. In my new role as Senior Lab Engineer I shall be working in the large, modern and AMCA accredited development laboratory located within the Colchester factory. The lab has two key functions; the development and testing of new products and also FAT\'s/customer witness testing on prestigious project orders. We specialise mainly in aerodynamic, acoustic, electrical and high temperature performance testing but also cover many other aspects such as strain gauging, vibration assessment and analysis, motor no load/loss analysis, motor temperature rise testing and, ultimately, report writing. I find the constant variation in workload both interesting and challenging.
