ABOUT STUART HAYWARD
Award-winning, ACA and BFP qualified Chartered Accountant currently working in Group Financial Reporting at Quilter Plc, having previously worked in Group Finance at Merlin Entertainments and audit at KPMG.At Quilter, oversee the production of group financial statements, ensure compliance with accounting and regulatory reporting standards across the business, and work closely on the successful implementation of new ERP to enhance efficiencies across the group.Whilst at Merlin, developed and implemented new accounting policies across the group. In particular, oversaw and co-ordinated the transition from IAS17 to IFRS16 across the group - a hugely important undertaking given the magnitude of the change for Merlin. Further, provided technical guidance across the group and worked on the development of statutory accounts and the group annual report, whilst also actively participating in wider activities across the business, such as participating in Merlin Magic Wand events; the group safety and wellness week to promote health, safety and wellbeing; and being an active member of the company\'s yoga club! During my time as an audit associate at KPMG, demonstrated an ability to adapt to demands of diverse engagements and regulatory requirements, working on FTSE 100 and 250 clients; SOX Compliance; and SRA engagements. Also an active member of the Sports and Social society and the South Coast Office ambassador for the BeMindful network - promoting awareness of mental health issues, alongside information about techniques, resources, and upcoming events aimed at supporting those affected. Previously studied for 4 years at the University of Exeter, obtaining a BA in Business Economics and an MSc in Economics, which, in addition to my work experience and ACA studies, has given me a sound understanding of business, finance, and the wider economy. Outside of work, passionate about volunteering, having previously spent a year working for Age Concern, as well as voluntarily teaching AS Level Economics at Twynham Sixth form during my gap year. Also an active member of Toastmasters International, developing my public speaking and presentation skills, and supporting others to do the same.
