About Travis Short
I am an oilfield professional with over 25 years experience in a broad range of roles mostly focused on drilling and engineering. I started my oilfield career in the service sector spending time out in the field and on the technology side learning well planning and data analytics. I have a combined 9 years working for service companies and 16 years with operators. One of my key accomplishments is continued improvement. In every basin that I\'ve drilled, my last well/s have always been drilled faster and cheaper than the first wells. Most notably, in the Deadwood field of the Permian Basin, I was able to deliver a 45% reduction in spud to TD over a 15-well time period. My area of expertise is well and casing design using state of the art software technology. As a Sr. Drilling Engineer with Apache I was busy managing up to 4 rigs at once but my side hustle was still holding internal training classes on Compass, StressCheck, and Wellplan. As a Drilling Engineer I have a broad range of technical skills from bit and bha optimization, drilling mud, casing design, cementing, and well operations but from my sales background I am also very keen on contract negotiations and master service agreements.
