Stramash is a charity and social enterprise delivering fully outdoor early learning and childcare to nearly 400 families per year. We are an established organisation, nearly 14 years old and operate across four outdoor nurseries in Oban, Fort William, Inverness and Elgin. Our purpose along with all outdoor nurseries is to provide high quality early learning and childcare to pre-school children. Beyond this core purpose Stramash is market leading in our sector and a significant organisation in finding the way forward. Stramash is on a mission to develop and evolve what makes us unique and special, improve accessibility for families and provide our services to as many children and families as possible. We believe that all of Scotland’s children should be free to play, develop, be connected to nature and their place and community. The health and education benefits of the Stramash approach are well proven. Outdoor learning has been found to be beneficial for mental health, resilience and wellbeing and also helps with the poverty related attainment gap. Quite simply – Stramash supports positive childhood experiences and meaningful relationships through providing care and learning in the outdoors.

ABOUT STRAMASH SOCIAL ENTERPRISE
Hi we are Stramash Social Enterprise; the largest provider of outdoor nurseries in Scotland. We care a whole lot about the power of nature and place based learning. We also know how supportive and meaningful relationships and interactions, with caring people in enriching environments, help humans (big and small) to flourish. ‘The outdoors’ is where we ‘do what we do’, but it’s our ethos, values and people that really deliver the magic of what we do. Alongside our outdoor nurseries we also support schools and other early years practitioners and settings via our schools programmes and training courses. At Stramash we believe that all children deserve an early years at play, in nature. We are champions of place based and child directed learning, as such there is no ‘standard’ Stramash site.
