ABOUT STRAC IVANOV

My fascination with computers began when I was 8 years old and my parents bought our first PC: It had an 8-bit Z80 processor and used a cassette player for data storage. I learned to code in Basic and soon I was taking part in programming competitions. I started my first successful business in high school, making video recordings of weddings and other events. When I was 18, I moved to Vienna, Austria to pursue a Business degree. I got my MBA 5 years later, after writing my thesis on the topic of using Artificial Intelligence to gather information from the web – at a time when today’s Internet search engines were just starting to take off. My fascination with technology and business put me on the forefront of a technological revolution that reshaped whole industries: From building Vienna\'s first online movie theater programs search engine in the 90\'s, to starting my own ecommerce consultancy in and helping dozens of American and Canadian brick-and-mortar businesses to start selling online.Then, in 2006, I founded Vicinity Jobs with $200 capital. We launched one of North America\'s earliest job aggregators, attracting millions of job seekers and thousands of employers. The Big Data analytics products that we built revolutionized the way Labour Market Information is collected and analyzed and are now widely used by government, academic institutions, and industry associations across Canada. In 2018, we launched Worxica.com – North America’s first Big Data labour market research tool specifically built for and available to all job seekers and recruiters.
