ABOUT STHITADHI MAITI

I am a computational biophysics postdoctoral researcher with a Ph.D. from Arizona State University, currently working in the Department of Physics at the University of Genoa under Prof. Giulia Rossi and Dr. Davide Bochicchio. My work focuses on developing foldable coarse-grained models of amyloid-beta 42 to study aggregation in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease.Previously, my doctoral research involved classical molecular dynamics simulations of intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs) and free energy calculations using enhanced sampling methods. I investigated how solvation thermodynamics across force fields influence conformational distributions and studied folding and binding free energies of disordered proteins linked to cancer and Alzheimer’s.I am proficient in Linux-based systems and High-Performance Computing (HPC), with extensive experience using tools such as GROMACS, VMD, and PyMOL. I am also skilled in Python and C.
