ABOUT STEWART MACK MCMILLAN
I started my work career at the age of 15 as the first employee of what was then Fire Task Force Innovations a company built on an idea my father had to make a better fire nozzle. In 1982 my father was the first and only person that I rescued from a fire in 50 years of being a fireman. He had collapsed in the building and died four days later. I became President of the company at the age of 27 and knew that I didn\'t have the skills to run a company. That sent me seeking advice from others which has served me well. I brought in an outside advisory board which I then converted to a fiduciary board, highly unusual in private business. From that experience, I know the value of outside mentors and boards. With a background in interdisciplinary engineering, I bring a broad knowledge base and a strategic mindset, emphasizing deep decision rationale understanding. In the boardroom, I focus on unpacking the \"WHY,\" fostering innovation. A maverick entrepreneur, I\'m expanding my board portfolio selectively. Notable achievements include transforming Task Force Tips into a $70M enterprise which was successfully sold to Madison Industires in 2017 and founding the McMillan Family and MAAC Foundations. An active YPO member and Tiger 21 member, I\'m a lifelong learner and mentor. Beyond business, my curiosity extends to aviation and all things mechanical especially machine tools controlled by computers.
