ABOUT STEWART CHAMBERS
As a Senior eDiscovery Project Manager at NatWest Bank, I have been a foundational member of the Bank’s eDiscovery function since its inception, helping to build out a robust, risk-aware capability that is now recognised as a critical business area. With a career spanning from the early through the financial markets crash and aftermath to the present day, I have developed a deep understanding of the regulatory and technical demands placed on financial institutions managing complex litigation, regulatory investigations, and internal reviews. My work is grounded in the practical application of eDiscovery methodologies tailored to the banking environment, where data complexity, regulatory scrutiny, and the need for defensibility are paramount. My technical expertise spans a wide array of industry-standard tools and platforms. I have hands-on experience with RelativityOne, Nuix Discover, EnCase, Symantec Enterprise Vault, and Smarsh, among others. I routinely manage workflows involving data identification, collection, processing, and review, and work closely with forensic technicians, data collections specialists and legal teams to ensure the accuracy, defensibility, and efficiency of data handling. I am experienced in both structured and unstructured data environments and adept at troubleshooting technical issues, optimising processing pipelines, and ensuring quality control across large and often sensitive datasets.Risk management is at the core of my role. I maintain a rigorous focus on legal privilege, data privacy, and chain of custody, ensuring compliance with internal controls and external regulatory requirements. I regularly implement operational safeguards to reduce exposure to legal, reputational, and compliance risks, while also maintaining detailed audit trails and documentation to support defensibility. Alongside this, I am responsible for managing financial aspects of eDiscovery projects, including budgeting, cost forecasting, and vendor oversight, ensuring delivery is not only legally and technically sound but also cost-effective. In addition to my core role, I am an active advocate for both volunteering and diversity & inclusion initiatives—both within NatWest and in the wider community—contributing time and energy to programmes that promote equity, representation, and community engagement across all areas of work and society.
