In 1937 after federal marshals shut down farm operations, the seed was vaulted and hidden and smuggled into Canada where they remained hidden until the first farm bill passed 81 years later. Our Seed & Strain and the historic farm on which it is grown is aligned with the Medical School at the University of Kentucky and the Hemp Research Institute.
