About Stephen Roche
Stephen Roche has a wide range of experience working in higher education, constituent/alumni engagement, and volunteer & special event management. Stephen currently serves as the Senior Associate Director of Special Events with Children\'s National Hospital Foundation in Washington, DC. He received a MA in Organizational Management and a BA in Electronic Media from George Washington University, where he served as a Presidential Administrative Fellow. He previously oversaw the Emory University Alumni Association\'s Mid-Atlantic & DC portfolio and GW’s regional alumni engagement portfolio.For three years, he served as the Assistant Director of Orientation at the University of Maryland. Prior to UMD, he spent 10 years with GW\'s award-winning new student orientation program, Colonial Inauguration, and with Hallmark Programs, managing all aspects of a multimillion dollar new student and family orientation & welcome program and signature campus events. From 2005 to 2008, he served as the Mascot Program Coordinator and main mascot performer for the Washington Nationals. Stephen has a wide range of experience as a board member/adviser to numerous nonprofit and for-profit volunteer groups. He served as a member-at-large & chair of the Student-Alumni Initiatives Committee for the GW Alumni Association & as founding member & immediate past chair of the GW Young Alumni Network. He also holds a certified practitioners certificate in MBTI. An avid sports fan and pop culture nerd, he lives with his wife Mary, son Colin, and daughter Emma in Columbia, MD.

Responsible for coordinating and developing fundraising strategies and planning the logistics of special events that will lead to financial growth for the Foundation\'s portfolio of signature events, raising over $6 million annually.
