Steve Odland is the current President & CEO of The Conference Board, the member-driven think tank that delivers Trusted Insights for What’s Ahead. Founded in 1916, the organization is the most widely cited private source of business intelligence. Odland also is the Lead Independent Director at General Mills, a Senior Advisor at PJ SOLOMON, and a CNBC Contributor. He is the former Chairman & CEO of Office Depot and AutoZone, and the former President & CEO of Tops Markets and the Committee for Economic Development. Odland also possesses a strong policy background. He is the former Chairman of the Business Roundtable\'s Corporate Governance Task Force. He also was a U.S. Presidential appointee as a Commissioner on the National Surface Transportation Policy and Revenue Study Commission; a member of the Committee on Capital Markets Regulation; a U.S. Presidential Appointee on the Council on Service and Civic Participation; and a member of the Advisory Council of the Institute for Corporate Ethics. He also formerly served as an Adjunct Professor in the graduate schools of business at Florida Atlantic University and Lynn University.Odland is the co-author of Sustaining Capitalism: Bipartisan Solutions to Restore Trust & Prosperity. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of Notre Dame, and a Master of Management degree from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
