ABOUT STEVEN TAN

I am intuitive and focused sustainability and risk management professional, with more than 3 years of working experience across multiple industries and practices including sustainability data and voting proposals analysis, sustainability reporting based on international standards and frameworks, risk management, and corporate social responsibility (CSR). I am currently working as a Stewardship Analyst in HSBC Asset Management UK, sits within the Responsible Investment Team. I am entrusted for analysis and research of ESG matters to aid voting and engagement processes of the Asset Management practice. I am well versed with Microsoft Excel for data analysis to identify insights to influence strategy formulation, and familiar with related data management and visualisation tools including Power BI and Tableau. I have graduated MSc in Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Sustainability (EIS) with a Distinction from Newcastle University in 2024 and graduated from the University of Manchester with a BSc.(Hons) Environmental Management degree (2:1) in 2020. Throughout my studies and work, I have held major positions of responsibility including the Project Officer of Raleigh Malaysia, Vice President of Manchester Energy and Environment Society, Executive of Environment and Society Department of Young Malaysians Engineers, Vice-Captain of Eco-Schools Malaysia, and project committee of the Blossom project of Enactus Manchester, which aims at reintegrating refugee women into the British society. I have also been a key member for the Enactus Manchester competition team which has achieved semi-finalists position for the Enactus Nationals Competition in 2020.
