About Steve Sfikas

I am driven by my passion for different types of media and technology. I have had a strong passion for entertainment ever since I was young which helped me learn about technology, and made me want to pursue technology and entertainment as a career. In my studies at Syracuse University\'s iSchool, I was been given the opportunity to learn about technology solutions, and how I can apply those solutions to my own personal interests. I used my time at the iSchool to learn skills like Python and R which are great tools because they allow me to explore and tell stories about anything using data. I have also been able to take classes like project management which allow me to learn leadership skills and how to work well with a team in a professional environment. I am grateful that I was able to explore my interest in art in the college of Visual and Performing Arts with my minor in Visual Culture. Visual Culture explores the worlds of art, design, and communication and how they impact the way we see the world. I learned how to engage with different visual arts and how those impact culture, which allowed me to expand my initial interest in the art of film to other visual art forms and subtopics within visual culture. During my time at Syracuse University, I was given great opportunities to combine my interest in problem solving and learning new skills, while also expanding on my interests in art and popular culture. I believe that technology can enable us to discover new solutions and insights into all aspects of our world, and my studies have shown me that. I hope to explore the intersection of art and technology as I develop my career.
