I am an award-winning Design Development & Implementation executive with a proven track record. My background includes leading world-class design teams to produce branded retail environments, including new flagship stores, large-scale remodels or pilot stores for national roll-outs. As such, I am dedicated to helping companies build highly-profitable and professionally-branded stores – on time and within budget. In 2002 I started Pottschmidt Design to serve the retail industry with design development and implementation services. I am the guy on the team that can take the big blue sky idea get it built. My retail-focused consulting services include; design refinement and translation, design intent documentation for the environment, custom store fixtures and millwork, coordination with graphic design, lighting design, architectural and engineering consultants, and implementation coordination with vendors, fabricators, and contractors. I help brands by championing the design intent throughout the implementation process, working with the client’s core team to ensure a project is both brand right and functionally efficient. I have had the opportunity to work with some of the best brands in retail, including AOL, Caribou Coffee, C&A Brazil, Charming Shoppes, Hamleys Toys, LensCrafters, Maytag, M&M’S World®, Pacific Theaters, PetSmart, Pick Up Stix, Radio Shack, Rubio’s Fresh Mexican Grill, Sheetz, Shopko, Smithsonian, Timberland, Universal Studios Islands of Adventure, Verizon Wireless, Warner Brothers and Walt Disney Imagineering. Before forming Pottschmidt Design, LLC, I was Vice President of Design Development at Chute Gerdeman, a Director at Fitch. Before that, The Director of Interior Design at Richard Trott and Partners Architects. I began my career in 1984 at Continental Office Environments after earning a Bachelor of Science in Design from the University of Cincinnati, College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning. I hold accreditation from the National Council for Interior Design Qualification; I am a LEED AP and a Professional Member of the Retail Design Institute.
