I\'m Steve Dean, a dating industry researcher, consultant, and advisor as well as a personal dating & relationship coach. I\'m obsessed with how people form (and navigate) relationships and communities. I love cultivating convivial connections across communities. I\'ve hosted salons, dinners, meetups, webinars, hikes, tours, and coworking sessions day and night across multiple cities for over a decade in order to bring people together from all over the world to share their stories and build new friendships, startups, and movements.My mission is to help the world become a kinder, quirkier, more interconnected place, where we create lasting relationships that help us pool one another\'s collective brilliance and hard work toward ends that will serve all beings across our shared planet for generations to come.In the world of dating, I formed my Dateworking consultancy in 2011 to advise early founders and industry executives on how to build stronger products that bring their users delight and genuine connection. Through Dateworking I also counsel individual daters on how to navigate the dating ecosystem. Since 2013, I\'ve been working with the Courtland Brooks dating industry consultancy, a team of 25+ subject matter experts who are committed to helping the dating industry grow so that more people can find the relationships they seek, on the apps they love, in ways that they can feel good about for years after.    I offer dating workshops and consultations to both individual daters and internet dating companies. I help individuals choose the right dating site, create compelling profiles, craft messages that will convert into dates, successfully identify & meet new partners, and build lasting relationships.For dating companies, my consulting covers product strategy, user acquisition, user experience design, and business development.I started Dateworking in 2011 because I began to notice that our social, romantic, and professional lives were all becoming more intersectional than ever. Whether we\'re transitioning to new cities, new communities, new jobs, or new romances, we rely on many of the same values, apps, and tactics to guide us. I strive to explore, share, and create connection in all its live-affirming forms: finding new friends and communities; meeting new business partners and startup mentors; exploring our relationship with ourselves, and finding love, intimacy, and romantic partnership no matter where we find ourselves in life. Since 2011, I have advised, recruited, and consulted for dozens of dating companies, including OkCupid, CoffeeMeetsBagel, Hinge, and FarmersOnly. On the business side, I like to focus on competitive research, business development, user acquisition, team expansion, and my personal favorite: product/launch strategy. I want to see a world with dating apps we\'re proud to put on our home screen.
