1. Lead Software Engineer - Data Platform

   New Relic

   Nov 2023 — Present · Seattle, WA, US

   Led the architectural design and migration of raw data from Snowflake to AWS S3 utilizing the Iceberg open table format and Kafka Connect Iceberg Connector. Oversaw the deployment of Spark on Kubernetes via Helm and authored Spark jobs to ensure efficient Iceberg table maintenance.Directed a team of 6 engineers in the migration of a petabyte‐scale Kafka Connect cluster from on‐premises data centers and S3 to AWS, utilizing Kubernetes. Implemented the Kafka Connect Snowflake Snowpipe Streaming connector, successfully processing over 3 petabytes of data weekly into Snowflake.Designed and implemented a data ingestion pipeline that transfers customer data from New Relic product APIs to Snowflake, leveraging Spark on Amazon EMR and workflow orchestration with Apache Airflow to enhance data flow efficiency and reliability.
