   As part of KPMG\'s Transaction Tax Systems (TTS) practice, Steven focuses much of his time in the telecommunications industry. He has substantial experience assisting telecommunications clients in the integrating and testing of third party tax applications, such as Vertex Communications Tax and CCH SureTax Telecom tax calculation engines, with their indirect tax billing systems. He has served as project manager of telecommunications billing system implementations with responsibility for planning, budgeting, execution, testing, and delivery of third party tax applications. Steven has also provided subject matter knowledge and guidance on U.S. telecommunications taxes, fees and surcharges. Additionally, Steven has been responsible for delivering a broad range of indirect tax services to clients in many industries, including: • Sales and use tax reverse audits for clients in the communications, oil and gas, transportation and utilities industries • Taxability studies on the application of multi-state transaction taxes to products and services • Preparing ruling requests • Advising on nexus and bundling issues • Preparing and managing voluntary disclosure requests • Providing representation for clients under sales and use tax audits • Assist disclosures under ASC 450 (formerly FAS 5) Contingencies • Buy-side due diligence for transaction taxes and property taxes.
