Experience
Assistant Director
University of Maryland Baltimore County
Jun 2009 — Present · Baltimore, MD, US
My focus at UMBC is on project based learning and arts integrated STEM (or STEAM) education. I have also facilitated a project based learning course on sustainable design in which twelve students from different majors researched, designed, and built a kinetic sculpture called the \"Kraken Upcycle.\" See film trailer. I advise students who are designing individualized degree plans in hybrid fields such as bioethics, neuroscience, criminal justice, astrobiology, and social entrepreneurship to help them to craft a detailed degree plan and research proposal for approval by a faculty committee.
