ABOUT STEVEN CARDENAS
Steven is committed to providing quality string instruction (violin, viola, cello) to include basic fundamentals that ensure proper training and the foundations for improved musicianship while helping students to enrich their understanding and develop their love for music. His students and their families appreciate his dedication and caring manner and compliment his ability to engage students and instill a desire to discover their musical abilities while building their self-confidence. In addition to being trained by prominent musicians of the Honolulu Symphony during his formative years, Steven received his orchestral training while attending Kalakaua Middle School, University Laboratory School, and University of Hawaii-Manoa. During his middle and high school career, he was awarded with recognition as principal violist in the Hawaii Youth Symphony Orchestras. Throughout the 1990\'s, Steven performed with members of the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra, Hawaii Philharmonic, Maui Symphony Orchestra, and the Hawaii Chamber Orchestra. He also performed as Heartstrings, a violin & classical guitar duo for many weddings and receptions.
