   The NYC Young Men’s Initiative (YMI) is the nation’s most comprehensive municipal effort to tackle the broad disparities impacting the advancement of young men of color. For nearly 15 years, YMI has established innovative public-private partnerships and invested in programs and policies that have improved outcomes related to education, health, employment, and the criminal justice system-Provide strategic leadership and oversight of YMI, ensuring alignment with its mission-Work with city agency and community-based partners to design and scale YMI programs and policies with the goal of reducing disparities and ensuring they are outcomes-driven and aligned with community needs-Ensure all YMI programs and initiatives incorporate robust outcome frameworks, evaluation, and impact assessment tools to measure effectiveness, guide continuous improvement, and build an evidence base of best practices-Lead and supervise a diverse team of staff, cultivating a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing organizational culture centered on staff development, mentorship, and growth-Oversee YMI\'s budget and fiscal management to ensure sound stewardship of resources, financial accountability, and maximization of impact-Solve complex procurement, budget, and other challenges that may impact program success-Work closely with the Mayor’s Office to support YMI-specific programs and effective management of resources-Promote YMI’s work locally and nationally by sharing outcomes, lessons learned, and best practices with partners, policymakers, and peer municipalities-Work closely with external affairs & communications staff to steadily increase YMI’s reach and impact through marketing, outreach, and creative engagement-Foster strong relationships between government, philanthropic, nonprofit, and community partners, ensuring YMI’s collaborations are results-driven and mutually beneficial.
