About Steven Williams
Before forming my own firm, I worked for two years with Columbia University’s Urban Technical Assistance Project (UTAP) as the Community Development Project Associate. My responsibilities included the supervision of six (6) staff and the management of community planning and development projects which included housing, commercial/retail, zoning and land use. I also participated in the strategic planning and policy development for organizations, managed project budgets and timelines, and recruited outside expertise as required by the projects. I worked approximately eight (8) years for Harlem Congregations for Community Improvement, Inc. as the Director of Real Estate Development. I was responsible for the supervision of four (4 staff and the coordination of housing development projects from inception to completion; and in the capacity of Consultant/Vice President for an additional two (2) years responsible for the compiling and analyzing demographic information for the Bradhurst section of Harlem for housing and economic trends and project specific applications
