About Steven Sumpter
A third-generation in a family of electrical engineers, I grew up finding the best possible solution to complex problems. In my role as a professional engineer (PE), I bring that approach to the challenges facing the nation’s electrical grid, developing and overseeing large-scale competitive transmission projects with budgets in excess of $100mm. These projects increase reliability, support decarbonization and economic growth, and increase access to wind, solar and other green energy sources. Through creativity, innovation, and collaborative leadership, I foster open communication with local, state and federal government; utilities; the community; and other stakeholders in the project area.
