My role involved the management of planning, implementing and tracking of the annual AdventHealth State Advocacy Plans in partnership with other hospital campuses and AdventHealth Corporate offices. I worked closely with AdventHealth campus CEO\'s to define and articulate local and state policy issues. Frequently, I partnered with internal departments, such as revenue cycle, community impact, marketing, and communications, to develop proactive strategies around relationship/reputation enhancement with external audiences. My work involved collaborating with multiple stakeholders in order to garner support on overlapping legislative and local governmental priorities. I advocated on behalf of AdventHealth at government, business, and community events and developed hospital engagement strategies with local chambers and business associations. One of my most recent achievements was obtaining state licensure and government funding for AdventHealth’s newly established memory clinic treating patients with Alzheimer’s disease and other memory disorders. My work included spearheading community coalitions on leading public and community health issues, such as the opioid crisis, homelessness, and access to care. Yearly and monthly, I analyzed the Government Relations departments budget performance and was responsible invoicing vendors, tracking financial trends and forecasting projected spending. Moreover, I directed large-scale community-based events, such as AdventHealth’s Distinguished Lecture Series (DLS). The impact of the DLS series grew significantly leading up to the last Premier Distinguished Lecture Series event taking place having several thousand guests in attendance and included the management of a 40+ staff/volunteer team. I also presented PowerPoints to a wide-variety of internal and external audiences, including at places like universities, community organizations, elected officials, and conferences.
