WORK HISTORY
Senior Geomechanical Engineer @Bisa Ingeniería De Proyectos
Numerical modelling and support design for underground excavations and tunnels (NATM method, core replacement, internal pressure reduction). Application of numerical modelling to evaluate failure mechanisms such as spalling, structural shear, unravelling, wedge failures, rockburst, and pillar failure. Interpretation of in situ stress conditions and application of stress measurement techniques. Interpretation and statistical analysis of rock mechanics laboratory tests. Geomechanical characterization and application of analytical, empirical, and numerical methods to assess the stability of rock masses and underground structures.

ABOUT STEVEN SERRET
I am a Engineering Geology with over 9 years of experience working on mining and civil projects. My background focus on rock and soil engineering with emphasis on ground investigation and characterisation, tunnels design, slope stability, monitoring and instrumentation and numerical modelling for structures such as open pit mine, underground, waste rock dumps, and Tailings Storage Facilities (TSFs). My expertise also extends to civil projects such as slope and foundation stability analysis, conceptual models, lab testing interpretation, geophysical surveys, slope stabilisation methods, geological risk assessment, soil and rock logging, site investigation and earth retaining design.
