ABOUT STEVEN SELKON

Qualified Chartered Accountant with a strong foundation in external audit with exposure that spans across a number of different industries and over 5 years worth of experience (2 years post qualified). My current role is that of an Audit Senior at Henderson Loggie in Edinburgh. I completed my Bachelor of Business Science specialising in Accounting as well as my Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting at Monash South Africa (rebranded as IIE MSA). As of 25 January 2023 I am registered as a CA(SA) with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants.I completed my training articles at KPMG South Africa (Johannesburg) in the Consumer, Industrial and Mining business unit which gave exposure to a number of different industries. My primary experience relates to the aviation industry through which I have both work and family experience, however I also have also had exposure to automotive glass retailers, fund and deceased estate managers, beverages and ad hoc assignments to other industries. I have had brief listed entity experience during my tenure with majority of my clients having been private companies.During my career at PwC UK I have further enjoyed exposure to a number of different industries including legal services, charities, entertainment and media, architectural services and ad hoc assignments in other industries. I have gained experience in financial reporting in terms of Limited Liability Partnerships (LLP) as well as Charity statements of recommended practice (SORP). My clients have been varied in size from small statutory entities to components of listed entities.I have experience in multiple IFRS standards and have also obtained FRS 101 and FRS 102 experience including financial statements prepared under companies act requirements. Through the course of my audit experience, I have also obtained understanding of internal control environments.
