As the Senior Managing Director I’m proud to serve as leader of the NY Tri-State Area commercial real estate appraisal and advisory/consulting practices, both externally and internally to the JLL service lines capitalizing on my connections within the NY metro real estate market. Mr. Schleider, a proven mentor and team builder, is focused on expanding the professional staff and growing the reach of JLL’s VAS business lines from Metro Philadelphia through Connecticut.

ABOUT STEVEN SCHLEIDER
Steven Schleider is a seasoned commercial real estate and appraisal/valuation professional who has built his business thanks to meaningful relationships with industry peers. After nearly 20 years leading one of greater New York metro’s largest commercial property appraisal and consulting practices, Metropolitan Valuation Services (which he co-founded), was acquired by JLL. Today, he serves as Senior Managing Director of JLL’s US Value and Risk Advisory platform leading the greater New York Tri-State region. Mr. Schleider’s experience in real estate is broad and his assignments have included development strategies, valuation and/or feasibility studies for market-rate and subsidized rental facilities, nursing home, age-restricted and assisted-living residences, cooperative and condominium apartment buildings, development projects in various stages of approval; and, valuation for various lower- and moderate-income housing programs involving LIHTCs and low floater rate tax exempt revenue bond financing. He has experience with various HUD-based programs, including section 8 facilities, MAP and rent comparability surveys. Additionally, Mr. Schleider has developed and conducted seminars relating to multi-family valuation issues for the New York City Housing Development Corporation and the New York State Housing Finance Agency.Mr. Schleider is a LEED Accredited Professional with specialty in building design and construction (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) of the United States Green Building Council. He served as the 2011 President of the Metropolitan New York Chapter of the Appraisal Institute, and chaired both the Admissions and Education Committees. Starting in 2003 and for the following 11 years, Mayor Michael Bloomberg appointed Mr. Schleider to the NYC Rent Guidelines Board. He is also a proud member of the Real Estate Board of New York and serves on its Housing Committee and has chaired its Appraisal Committee.Schleider is a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser in the following states: Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York. He is also qualified before courts and administrative bodies in New York County.
