ABOUT STEVEN ROBERT HIRST
As a theatre and drama educator at JBCN International Schools, I facilitated the learning and development of students in IGCSE, IBDP Drama and Theatre courses. I have over 30 years of experience in theatre, performance and drama education, working in various roles and contexts in the UK and overseas, particularly East Asia. My core competencies include new writing, theatre and education work in multicultural settings, creative writing, and new media. I have a passion for writing, performance, education and cultural exchange, and a mission to inspire and empower students to express themselves creatively and critically. I have worked with renowned directors, actors, and filmmakers, such as Alan Ayckbourn, Wong Kar-Wai, Gong Li, and Tony Leung, and have taught and coached some of the leading film actors in Asia. My degree in English is from Wadham College, Oxford University and I took a PGCE in English and Drama from the Institute of Education, University of London.
