ABOUT STEVEN PARSONS

Hi there, my name is Steven! I am a highly motivated and hard working software engineer living in Chicago. I obtained a Bachelor\'s degree in audio in 2018 and worked in the field for the following year while supplementing my inconsistent schedule with bartending. I left my audio path and went back to software because I wasn\'t feeling fulfilled by my work, and realized I felt fulfillment and excitement when I was able to employ my computer science and coding skills. In 2019 during my internship with Clatter & Din, I started dusting off my computer science and coding skills from the past, and took online courses in computer science, web development, and data structures. I attended Flatiron School\'s Software Engineering bootcamp. Over the course of several moths I developed full stack applications and built out several technical and soft skills. I then joined J.P. Morgan as a Backend Software Engineer developing test driven APIs. Since joining, I have thrived in my role and demonstrated my skills in ways such as winning an internal hackathon.I have well developed skills in JavaScript, Java, and Ruby programming, including React, React Native, Spring, and Rails, in addition to a track record of rapidly learning new tools and technologies. I have an in depth knowledge of coding best practices and web development, as well as an array of soft skills such as teamwork and communication. These soft skills have been built out from my recent software projects, and all the way back to my years of bartending, audio engineer, and customer service.
